Institutes Uniform Jr. Team Tennis
League Fee for 2010

Beginning
in 2010, USTA Florida will institute a
$35 league fee for the USTA Florida Jr.
Team Tennis league in an effort to offer
a consistent and quality program across
the state. The Jr. Team Tennis league
connects kids together in teams to play
singles, doubles and mixed doubles
against other teams, with local league
winners advancing to the state/sectional
championships, and to the USTA Jr. Team
Tennis National Championships.

Coaching Workshop will be conducted by
USTA National Certified Trainer Dede
Allen on Jan. 6, 2010, from 2:30-6:30
p.m. at Sandalwood High School in

Laura Toth devotes to making the game
bigger, better and more enjoyable along
the Treasure Coast...The USTA has. Two
weekends ago, at the USTA Florida's
annual meetings in Clearwater, Toth was
named the 2009 Area League Coordinator
of the Year, despite having overseen the
USTA leagues in the Indian River, St.
Lucie and Martin county region for only
14 months.

one-day, short-format tournament with

News-Press: Cape Coral resident ranks
high in tennis quadriplegic division
Marc McLean excels at
tennis. It's just a little different
than the kind most people play. McLean,
40, is an internationally ranked
wheelchair tennis player. He is also a
quadriplegic. The Cape Coral tennis
teacher is ranked 19 in the world for
singles and 12 in doubles in the tennis
wheelchair quadriplegic division.

The Bryan brothers gave
their best and left in their worst
Saturday in Plant City. Twins Mike and
Bob, the top men's doubles tennis team
in the world, donated their shirts,
shoes, hats, sunglasses, watches and
even underwear -- all signed -- to an
auction at the Zeno/Canon Tennis
Challenge 2 event. All proceeds went to
the Larry King Cardiac Foundation. The
brothers left Mayor Rick Lott's house
without shoes, in old T-shirts and
warm-ups.
